Continuing Innovations on Recyclable Barrier Papers

Following the successful launch in 2020 of our TG188 laminate ( high barrier paper/pe, OPRL widely recycled status – kerbside paper stream ), Tungate have now extended the product offering into a high strength version ( TG189 ).  This revolutionary product builds on the attributes of the original specification , but gives brand holders the useful option of a rustic finish, especially suited to organic products, breakfast cereals etc. In addition, the stronger paper gives much greater burst strength making it particularly useful with sharp products like dried pasta, granola and noodles. The material also offers higher tensile strength enabling it to withstand the rigours of more challenging in-line pouch and vertical FFS lines.

Tungate’s Sales Director Gareth Partlett commented ‘the original specification is proving very popular and deservedly so. However whilst that product can be supplied with a high gloss or matt finish, due to it’s coated finish the result is always going to be smooth. In contrast the new TG189 allows customers to have a really rustic finish while also providing the practical benefits of higher tensile and burst strength.’
