Sustainable mono PE Flexible packaging products launched into UK market

Following extensive print and lamination trials during 2020, Tungate have successfully launched a range of mono polymer PE high barrier flexible packaging materials.

Designed to replace traditional non-recyclable multi polymer filmic flexible packaging materials without line performance or shelf-life compromise.  Tungate are offering 3 distinct calliper options.

• 80 microns, suitable for small VFFS and HFFS flow wrap packers
• 100 microns, suitable for most small to medium weight HFFS and VFFS pack formats including pouches
• 120 microns, suitable for medium to large HFFS sachet and pouch requirements especially where tensile strength and puncture resistance is a critical factor.

Gareth Partlett, Tungate’s Sales Director commented ;  ‘these are genuinely recyclable products which give good performance on most filling lines with no need to compromise on shelf life for food products. Whilst at the moment in most cases they will represent an oncost compared to existing materials, as volumes grow we expect this gap to narrow and in many cases we should achieve parity going forward.’
